Committees are the Backbone of the Student Senate

 Specializing and focusing our senators efforts in a specific field, committees are ideal for:

Efficiency  
Coordination 
Research and Recommendations

The Student Senate is too large to appropriately and efficiently consider a complex issue.  In committee, Interested Senators can meet to iron out the best decision for California's 2.6 million CC students.  These committees are often charged to do research and make recommendations on a specific issue.  Some committees are ad-hoc, meaning they are formed to fulfill a single purpose.  Once that purpose is fulfilled and a recommendation is issued, that committee is dissolved.
