Re: A good place to start

AB 2261 (Ruskin) is really interesting, it's trying to setup a framework to make sure that all OER  materials developed by Community College Faculty are interchangable by establishing the CCC Chancellors Office as the authority. I heard its going to be in hearing on April 8th,2008 in the Assembly Committee on Higher Ed. I'll try to post the rm number and time later.

Re: A good place to start

Is the hearing open to anyone, including students at large?  Can you provide more information to those who might be interested in attending this and other hearings on textbooks and related legislation?

Re: A good place to start

yeah the hearing is open, the room number is 437 and its at 1:30. I think that comments by the public are limited to 1 minute.

Re: A good place to start

Good News Team, I received a call from Member Ruskins Office today and AB 2261 was placed in the consent file meaning that the entire assembly higher ed. committee thinks it should be passed.

So if you planned on coming down to speak on behalf of the bill sorry, it won't be on the agenda.
