Sacramento, CA – The Student Senate for California Community Colleges (SSCCC) is proud to announce the newly elected Executive Board for the 2025–26 term! Chosen by student delegates from across the state during the 2025 General Assembly in Los Angeles on April 6, this incoming Executive Board will lead the charge in representing and advocating for the voices of more than 2 million California community college students.

2025-26 SSCCC Executive Board:
President - César Tlatoāni Alvarado
Vice President - Chris Chandler
Vice President of Regional Affairs - Cody Jarvis
Vice President of Legislative Affairs - Alec Sarkissian
Vice President of Finances - Federico Caion
Vice President of Communications - Brandon Maskey

The General Assembly is the Student Senate’s largest annual gathering of student leaders, providing a platform for delegates to debate and vote on resolutions that guide the organization’s advocacy efforts. Delegates also elect the Board of Directors, ensuring continued student representation in higher education policy.

This year’s General Assembly brought together more than 800 student leaders, advisors, and faculty for three days of workshops, discussions, and networking to strengthen student advocacy. Delegates also elected the 2025-26 Board of Directors and Regional Officers and passed 89 resolutions on key issues like accessibility, student resources, and diversity, shaping the SSCCC’s advocacy for the year ahead.

"This year, we raised the bar for what student leadership can achieve, whether co-sponsoring legislation, shaping national dialogue, or amplifying local voices. The General Assembly has once again proven the power of student advocacy. I know the new Executive Board will take our mission even further, and I can’t wait to see how they continue to advocate for all California community college students. Wishing them all the best on this new journey," said current SSCCC President, Ivan Hernandez.

General Assembly is a crucial event for ensuring that student voices are heard at the statewide level, empowering students to advocate for policies that directly impact their education and future.

The California Community Colleges is the largest system of higher education in the nation, composed of 73 districts and 116 colleges serving over 2 million students per year. The Student Senate for California Community Colleges mission is to enrich the collegiate experience for all California community college students by pursuing policies that will improve student access and success while engaging and empowering local student leaders and honoring equity and diversity.
