SACRAMENTO, CA – The Student Senate for California Community Colleges (SSCCC) is grateful for the Governor’s continued investments in the California Community College system and appreciates the Administration’s efforts to minimize impacts on students through one-time financial aid investments.
“Our students are facing rising costs and economic uncertainty. As costs rise, students must remain at the center of budget decisions. The SSCCC is committed to ensuring our voices are heard,” said SSCCC President Ivan Hernandez. “We are thankful for the Governor’s commitment to supporting California community college students, and we look forward to working with the Governor and Legislature to ensure students remain at the center of budget decisions during this challenging year.”
The California Community Colleges is the largest system of higher education in the nation, composed of 73 districts and 116 colleges serving over 2 million students per year. The Student Senate for California Community Colleges mission is to enrich the collegiate experience for all California community college students by pursuing policies that will improve student access and success while engaging and empowering local student leaders and honoring equity and diversity.
