Sacramento, CA – The Student Senate for California Community Colleges (SSCCC) is proud to announce its official membership in the United States Student Association (USSA), the nation’s oldest and largest student-led organization advocating for education justice and student rights.
By joining the USSA, the SSCCC is now part of a national student movement that has worked to expand financial aid, fight discrimination, and hold leaders accountable. This partnership connects California community college students with peers nationwide and opens up new opportunities for collaboration and advocacy.
“We’re proud to join the USSA and stand with student leaders across the country who are working to create meaningful change in higher education. This partnership will strengthen our efforts to uplift student voices and advocate for accessible, affordable, and equitable education.” said SSCCC President, Jerry Reyes.
As a member of the USSA, the SSCCC will have access to national training, organizing resources, and opportunities to participate in federal advocacy and student-led events. SSCCC leaders will also attend the USSA Interim Governance Council meeting this August in Seattle.
