Whereas, Information distribution by the Student Senate for California Community Colleges currently occurs on a participatory basis through the SSCCC listserv;
Whereas, Schools in the California Community College system may become unaware of the operations of the Student Senate Council if no one at the school subscribes to the SSCCC listserv;
Whereas, In the interest of transparency, the SSCCC constituency deserves a more in-depth description of the current operations of the Student Senate Council than a terse description in Student Senate Council meetings minutes and reports from those few who attended the meetings; and
Whereas, Student Senate Council operations such as student movements to support or oppose legislation could be more effective with wider distribution of information;
Resolved, That the Student Senate for California Community Colleges Student Senate Council Communications Committee write and maintain a quarterly newsletter providing exposition on the current operations and priorities of the Student Senate Council to be distributed to the student government organization of each California Community College and to each Region of the Student Senate for California Community Colleges; and
Resolved, That the Student Senate for California Community Colleges Student Senate Council Communications Officer prepare and present an informational item on the SSCCC Newsletter at each General Assembly.
